| A high
performance omni-directional antenna for general APT use. Clean
pattern with no holes "over-the-top" reception and good low
angle performance.
Frequency range: 136-138 MHz Elements: 4 Mast Length: 36" Polarization: Electrically delayed, circular. Feed impedance: 50 Ohm. Material: Boom—1" X .065" Elements—3/8" solid Connector: Female UHF. Weight: 2.5 lbs. (Ship wt. 7 lb.) The smooth performance of the APT-2CP is shown in the three images above. Note the clean AOS at the horizon with little noise. Many omni’s have holes in the upper area of the pattern, allowing noise or complete signal fade at high angles. The center image of 81 degrees maximum elevation demonstrates the complete pattern without holes. The APT-2CP is used around the world for unattended capture. In general, owner’s comments indicate this little antenna out-performs any other omni they have used. The balanced driven element and frequency matched components are some of the reasons for exceptional omni-directional performance. The images above were captured at the Woodhouse Range near Plainwell, Michigan. Maximum elevation of passes were 25, 81 and 57 degrees. No pre-amplification was used with the antenna mounted 15 feet above ground with no near-field obstructions. |
