It's a simple matter to add autopatch to any repeater. The AP-3 module is installed in line with the audio and positive-going COS signals from the receiver to the COR board. A dc ground signal from a dtmf controller, such as the TD-2, turns the autopatch on. When used with the TD-2, you also get other handy features, such as toll call restrict and touch tone muting on the air. FEATURES: - Phone line interface direct with touch tone telephone line. FCC registered under part 68.
- Designed for direct interface with Hamtronics COR & Receiver modules.
- Toll call restrict at no extra charge when used with TD-2 DTMF Decoder/Controller.
- Tone muting of access code on repeater for security.
- Primary repeater remote control via touch tones on air.
- Automatic telephone answer on incoming line.
- Phone line remote control of repeater.
- Monitor repeater receiver by phone line.
- Reverse autopatch using touch tone command on telephone to activate the patch.
- Phone line levels: incoming -20 to +10 dBm, outgoing -3 dBm.
- Tape recorder relay output for logging.
- Operates on 13.6 Vdc.
- PC board 3 x 5 inches, double sided.

Often times, it is necessary to control machinery from a considerable distance, and a phone line with dtmf tones is a very cost-effective way to do it, providing you don't need to pay for a leased line. A good way to accomplish this is by using the TD-2 along with an AP-3 Autopatch module. The AP-3 monitors the phone line at the site with the equipment and automatically answers the phone line when it rings. It then couples any audio on the phone line to the TD-2. To turn something on or off, you merely call the remote telephone line and send your touch tone commands with the tone pad on your telephone. The AP-3 maintains the connection to the phone line for one minute and then hangs up. If you need more time for control, you can send a touch tone command to "turn on" the autopatch, which keeps it connected until you send another command to turn it off. If you have an audio source at the remote site you want to listen to, it can be coupled to the phone line through the AP-3 in much the same fashion as the receiver in a repeater. |
