REP-200 Repeater

You could easily spend this much just for a controller!

Hamtronics always strives to give maximum value for your hard-earned dollar  -  in this case, a premium repeater with microprocessor control, autopatch, landline control, and many other features at less than many charge for bare-bones repeater!

We don't skimp on quality, either! Check our specs on receiver, for instance. Great filters, sensitive front-end, hysteresis squelch to minimize effects of flutter and desense. No other repeaters on the market can match it!

The REP-200 Repeater retains the excellent transmitter and receiver specs of our original repeater and adds exciting new control circuits and chassis design.

Synthesized exciter and receiver modules are normally used for 2m, 220, and 440 repeaters at no extra cost!

Rather than just add a micro-computer controller, we completely rethought the whole idea of what a repeater should be, to provide the best features at the lowest possible cost. It took 1˝ years of engineering time. But it was worth it!

The REP-200 Repeater has its COR, CWID, DTMF controller, and autopatch all on one board, along with new signal and power distribution circuitry. Four pc boards have been combined into one pcb module, with ic sockets for easy service. Surface mount capacitors are used in many places to reduce size and enhance performance.

Tight rf partitions are an integral part of the compact new chassis, with Pem nuts to seal the covers for optimum shielding. This allows an incredible 60% reduction in size and weight and provides contemporary panel styling.

All interconnections are done through the controller board to eliminate cable harness. External cables for power, telephone, monitor speaker, and auxiliary receiver are made with push on terminals (supplied) which plug directly into the controller board.

There are more front panel indicators; color coded led's indicate status of all major functions. Panel controls and indicators are connected directly to receiver and control boards for easy assembly and maintenance.

Also, the available DVR-3 Digital Voice Recorder module provides real voice ID and club message announcement!

On 6 meters, output is 20-25W .  On the 2 meter and adjacent commercial band, output is 25-30W.  On 220 MHz, output is 18-20W.  In the unlikely event that isn't enough power for your application, you can add our accessory 50W or 100W PA. On uhf, choose from 8-10W with basic repeater or up to 100W with add-on PA's.

NOTABLE FEATURES:

FREQUENCY RANGES. Available for the 6M, 2M, 220MHz, and 440MHzham bands. FCC type accepted models available for commercial hi-band and uhf.

RECEIVER. Our receivers can't be beat for sensitivity and selectivity! We use low-noise FET's in the front end and very sharp filters.  Hysteresis squelch to eliminate flutter. 2W audio provided for external monitor speaker.

TRANSMITTER. Rugged exciter and PA, designed for continuous duty. Easy alignment with built-in test points. Power output 2025W on 6M, 25-30W on 2M or hi-band, 17-20W on 220MHz, 810W on uhf.

MICROPROCESSOR. The brain of the repeater is a 6803 µP with a 27C32 eprom and 9 support chips on the COR-5 Controller board. The cwid message, tt command codes, and owner-chosen default parameters for COR and CWID timers and tones are burned into the eprom at the factory. Timer and tone settings can be changed at any time by password-protected tt commands.

KEYUP CONTROL. Completely solid-state smart COR circuit features six selectable courtesy beep tones, including two pleasant sequential multi-tone bursts. A kerchunk filter can be turned on by tt command. If you want closed access for your repeater, a tt command can be required for initial access.

CWID is courteous; it waits for user to stop talking before id'ing and id's only when repeater is in use.

AUTOPATCH may be used with any touch tone line. Toll call restrict on first-digit 0&1, other digits, or "411"; owner can override. Autopatch can be either open or closed access at owner command. With open access, the patch is turned on with a simple one-digit "" command and dumped with a simple "#" command. With closed access, a full 4digit command must be given. Pulse redial available for use in areas without touch-tone telephone service.

REVERSE AUTOPATCH - two types: Auto-answer: phone line listens to receiver and can send control touch tones for one minute, after which the phone line disconnects; during that time, calling party can send tones to bring up the autopatch and call someone on the air or make an announcement, or send control tones to perform any of the tt functions, including inhibiting the transmitter or locking off the autopatch. Ring tone option: phone line is not answered; instead a ringing tone is heard on the air, allowing a mobile station to answer the phone. Owner can lock off autopatch if necessary. Autopatch automatically disconnects from phone line if left on with no receiver activity. Mobile radio can censor telephone audio whenever necessary merely by pressing mic button.

TOUCH-TONE CONTROL. Over 45 functions can be controlled by touch-tone from mobile radio or telephone. A central-office grade, xtal-controlled, tt decoder chip virtually eliminates false decoding. Full 16-digit decoding allows letter codes to be used for special functions.

OWNER FUNCTIONS. Owner can perform many functions not allowed for users, and can even lock out user access to normal functions, such as autopatch, or inhibit xmtr if necessary. Separate 4-digit control code for each function, plus extra 4-digit owner password required to access functions not allowed for general use. Auxiliary latching output to activate accessories, such as subaudible tone decoder. Incoming touch-tones are automatically muted so they are not retransmitted. Mute feature can be defeated to allow paging or selective calling on repeater.

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS. CW messages acknowledge "R" (roger) when a valid tt command is recognized, "TO" (time out) when time-out timer shuts down transmitter, and "OK" when time-out resets. Alarm can be wired to monitor external events, such as bldg. break-in, low battery, high vswr, weather radio, etc. Watchdog timer automatically prevents microprocessor lockup.

Aux rcvr input switchable by touch-tone command. Use for cross linking two repeaters, for a second input frequency, or a control link. Aux rcvr is always connected to touch tone decoder, and it is connected to transmitter when desired by owner tt command.

OPERATING POWER. Requires +13.6 Vdc at 4-5 amp. Idle current 260 mA.  Fuse and diode on controller provide a degree of reverse polarity and transient protection.

PHYSICAL SPECS. Size: 3.5"H x 19"W x 81/8"D (not incl controls and connectors). Net wt 4#; ship wt 9#. Chassis and panel all 5052H32 hard aluminum with gold alodine finish per MIL-C-5541. Panel finished with black and eggshell white baked enamel.

MAINTENANCE. You receive an excellent set of manuals, professionally written and illustrated, one for each module and one for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the overall repeater. Many diagnostic routines in the microprocessor, which can be called up by tt; e.g., activate carrier & various tone frequencies, test cwid, watchdog timer, reset adjustments to defaults.

WARRANTY. 90 days from date of shipment. Spare parts and service are always available for your repeater any time in the future as is lifetime engineering consultation. (Try getting that for an imported repeater!)

FCC REGISTRATION. 150-174 MHz and 400-470 MHz models are type accepted under parts 22, 74, & 90. Autopatch is registered under part 68.
